Chromosome is a weblog dedicated to the discussion of news, industry trends and issues related to clinical research. As the editor of the Chromosome, I strive to identify ways to deliver user value, using web technology to to generate long term efficiencies in clinical study startup and management. I’m a big advocate of the Lean Startup movement and Customer Development that is ushering in a golden era of entrepreneurship and creativity.
The Chromosome weblog features interviews and commentary from industry experts and leading drug development organizations around the world.
In my day job as CEO of goBalto, I research ways to simplify clinical study startup and use this knowledge to help study sponsors, CROs and sites make the right decisions.
I am the Founder & CEO of goBalto. We deliver fresh, purpose-built “easy to use” web products for clinical research. Our flagship product – Tracker – is the easiest and fastest way to get your clinical trial up and running. Where I identify solutions offered by goBalto, which are relevant to the subject matter, I make reference to them, and leave it to the reader to determine if they are worth pursuing.

I’m a first generation Korean-American, my father came to the United States in the 1970s, and settled in New York City. I remained in the Big Apple through my entire life, until I was called to Asia to work at the consultancy firm McKinsey & Company.
I’m often asked how to pronounce my first name, it’s quite simple…like the letter “J”.
I’m an avid Apple fan, enjoy Jazz (totally addicted to Pandora radio), golfing and in my spare time read sci-fi on the Caltrain. Big fan of Dan Simmons and Vernor Vinge.
My wife and I have three children, Preston (6), Adalyn (3) and Madison (1) and spend whatever free time we have with our kids.
