HealthTap is a free online application used by patients and physicians. Physicians can connect with patients by answering anonymous health questions or providing health and wellness tips. They can also upload and interact with their own practice’s patients, and they can engage with other physicians. HealthTap’s medical expert network is made up of over 45,000 licensed U.S. physicians representing 128 specialties.
Dr. Geoff Rutledge, HealthTap co-founder and CMIO, says HealthTap is on a remarkable mission – to “measurably prolong the lifespan of humankind.” Melissa McCormack, Managing Editor at Software Advice, recently sat down with Dr. Rutledge via a Google+ Hangout for a demo and discussion of the HealthTap application. They discussed the value to physicians of interacting online with patients and other physicians, and Dr. Rutledge demonstrated HealthTap in action. Check out the video below for the full conversation and demo.
