Help us welcome Joan Takahashi, QA Engineer, to Team goBalto. She works with Hillari, the QA department, and cross functionally with the team to ensure we are on the right path. A third-generation bay area resident, she has a Bachelor of Science in Biology from San Diego State University.
In the past
After returning to the Bay Area from San Diego, Joan pursued her career in various life science startups and found her way to Genentech in 1987. Her tenure there lasted 23 years in various Quality Control positions. She was able to witness and participate in many innovative drugs move through the pipeline to become life-saving drugs.
Fun Fact
Joan is an avid fan of the sitcom Big Bang Theory. She really relates to the characters in the sitcom as Joan loves science, analytical thinking, and comics; to us she is a living, breathing, and walking encyclopedia. She has attended (survived) a number of Comic-Cons, starting from its early days. Some of her all time favorite comics are Watchman and Usagi Yojimbo. She also loves cats and cares for cats with special needs.
