Going to the Tracks… DIA Tracks…

by Jae Chung

If you ever been to a track meeting, you will see runners of all types stretching and warming up for a race. There are fast sprinters that run short distances with tremendous speed and there are long distance runners that pace their way to the finish line. Who ever wins, the athletes all trained hard to advance and be the best they can be in their respective categories. The pharmaceutical / clinical research field is no different. There are many ways professionals in clinical research can put their career on the right ‘track’ by attending one of many tracks that are offered in conferences like DIA . Conferences are a good place to reconnect with your network, create and find new opportunities, and explore the exhibit floor to get the right party invites. But conferences also provide a wealth of information in the form of ‘Tracks” where the free flow of information really can advance one’s career.

We reviewed tracks offered  (page 22 to 31) at DIA 2012 in Philadelphia in the Final Program and found a few topics that may be of interest to professionals in the clinical trials industry.

Jae
Great summary. That full schedule was overwhelming. I spoke with the DIA booth this week at BIO and they mentioned the not-so-talked-about free “guest hours” for the DIA exhibit hall. This obviously wouldn’t provide as much value as attending the education sessions, but I thought it might be helpful for any your readers looking to get a bit better idea about the conference without committing to the full price tag. Tuesday 1:30-3:30 and Wednesday 1:30 to 3:30.

Pete
