As goBalto gains new customers and creates new ground breaking solutions for clinical study startup, our team has been growing to keep up with the demands of our users. A core part of our team is software engineering. Unfortunately, good engineers are hard to find in Silicon Valley.
Exceptional ones familiar with Ruby on Rails are rarer than CTMS providers with an eye for elegant design. (this is really rare.) Luckily we’ve hired two, who are not only amazing engineers, but are also passionate for bringing about positive change to the lackluster eclinical space. Meet our two newest additions to Team goBalto – Charles Guenther and Csaba Nemeth. Both join goBalto’s growing engineering team to help bring fresh solutions to the mess that is known as “clinical study startup.” They both come from diverse backgrounds, which is great since we believe diversity breeds creativity!
Charles Guenther, joins goBalto as a Senior Software Engineer. He got his career started in Silicon Valley building systems and interfaces for use both internally and externally at various established companies and start-ups. A Bay Area native, Charles has been writing software for the web since he was 15; from Visual Basic, Perl, PHP on up to Ruby, he’s used just about every language that speaks “web”.
An avid football fan, not to be confused with American “throwball”, he spends his weekends watching and playing as much as possible.
Also meet Csaba Nemeth, another Software Engineer. Before he got into engineering, he studied classical guitar, under David Tanenbaum at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and played in master classes by Nariciso Yepes and David Russell.
He began his careert as a mechanical engineer in the automotive industry while earning a second BS degree in electrical/computer engineering. He worked in industrial controls and machine vision before he earning an MS degree in software engineering. His software development experience encompasses assembly language programming of microcontrollers and digital signal processors (DSP), PLC’s and motion controllers used in industrial automation, object-oriented programming in C++ and C#.NET, and web application development with Rails among others. He also earned a base certification in SAS programming in 2007, a statistical analysis software package widely used in the Pharma industry.
Csaba loves dogs and trained his working-blood line German shepherd, Wolfgang, in Schutzhund for a couple of years. Unfortunately, he never got titled because he was frequently traveling for work. He also likes photography and am a member of the Peninsula Velo Cycling Club.
Looking forward to the future…
Big problems are solved by great teams who seek creative ways to solve the complex problems facing the clinical research industry. We are truly blessed to be in the company of such accomplished folks.
