Many folks have expressed interest in following our story to see how we operate behind the scenes. Before I started goBalto, I always wondered what it was like starting a company in Silicon Valley. Well, now you’ll have a chance to observe first hand. We are going to provide you with extraordinary amount of access into seeing how we tick, the internals battles as we strive to revolutionize and create a new web based tool to accelerate the clinical study start up. Frankly I think people are more curious to see whether we will succeed or flame out miserably.
Either way I think the timing to starting this new series aptly titled “goBalto All Access”, is good as we don’t know what the future holds for us. We are two and a half weeks away from launching our new website. In some sense a rebirth. I’ve burned through $1.3 million of my own cheddar because I sincerely believe in what we are doing. (God I hope Jenne – my wife- isn’t reading this). It’s time to see if the market agrees with our approach.
For those just joining the story, here’s a quick recap of where things stand.
goBalto is a San Francisco based internet company, developing web-based apps to help drug trial sponsors easily start their clinical studies. We have spent the last 6 months developing a new business model, to revolutionize how clinical studies are started. Will be releasing our new solution in late April / early May, depending if our pages are ready. In the midst of meeting investors. Just need to walk them through why this space is a great opportunity.

Here are 3 guidelines I promise to keep in authoring the goBalto All Access series.
1) Be Honest. I’ll air both the dirty and clean laundry. No holding back. As a startup, we have some leeway.
2) Limit the fluff. I’ll keep the mindless ramblings to a minimum and post only if there is something worth posting about.
3) Have fun. Hopefully this will entertain you and shed some light into the evolution of a startup.
Stay tuned. This is gonna be an interesting ride.

An interesting idea you have. I suspectd much of this has to do with marketeing your new company even before the official launch–but I think it’s a great idea. Wish I had thought of it myself. Save your notes. It might make a good book some day as well.
Nonetheless, it should be both interesting and educational. Good Luck. I’ll be waiting for the next installment.
Hey Bill!
Thanks for your comments! I thought this would be a good way to bring a more personal “face” to goBalto. You’d be amazed (and shocked) at some of the stuff that goes on behind the scenes here in Silicon Valley. Anyhow, appreciate your interest and look forward to posting our next installment soon.
Thanks again!
Jae

Andrew. Love it! The clinical space is in time for a major reboot.
We need some more rails developers in the life sciences web community. We had to fly someone in from DC…that’s how bad it is here. Best of luck and stay in touch. Would love to swap stories.
